Sure, because Adam is representative of all humanity, being the first-created. The original sin, or ancestral sin, has always been understood by the church fathers as being a sin of both Adam and Eve. Adam is a shorthand for the sins of both Adam and Eve, because he was the first created.

This is the passages that contradict that statement:

Romans 5:12

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned

1 Corinthians 15:21

For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.

According to the grammar according to accurate translations of the Greek text of the bible. This does not seem to refer to the short-hand that sin came through Adam and eve.

Eve for sure sinned but only with the sin of Adam did sin therefore enter the human race through their descendants. Now about the church fathers interpreting the passage as referring to both Adam and Eve their interpretation is wrong. Although the church fathers were right on a lot of things they aren’t infallible as the Holy Writ is.
