No fap challenge

22 Jun

Today is my 4 day abstaining from beating my meat. It is a struggle and a hard thing to accomplish. Especially after reading this post. My testicles feel like bursting and any glance of the beautiful female form drives me nuts. Masturbation is bad, it drains you of energy and vitality and probably your testosterone too. My lack of drive is the result of frequent masturbation. And now getting back on track requires a no surer test of willpower than this.

I feel your pain brother! I’m going through the exact same thing but i have been doing it longer. I can tell you that it does get better as time goes by. But those first weeks are hard you feel like a heroin junkie looking for their next fix. Eventually the feeling subsides and you begin to think clearly again.

I failed at the 14 day mark. So I had to try again. I am currently at 7 days no fap.

I’m glad that you’re doing something that may make you feel better, but the post you link to only discusses the fact that using excessive amounts of porn to masturbate with makes one mentally lazy, can cause loss of confidence and create antisocial/guilty feelings, and just generally becomes an addiction (which, like most, is difficult to break free of). It doesn’t say that rubbing one out is bad…just that when you’re choking the chicken, you should abstain from using porn to do so.

Like any activity that gives a rush of dopamine, our bodies are going to crave it. It’s obvious and natural to want pleasure, and most creatures with higher intelligence spend at least part of their lives actively seeking it (notably all 5 of us Great Apes, and dolphins/porpoises). The “bad” thing about being human is that our relatively vast control over our environment makes it too easy for us to get what we want…we have no drive or motivation to go out and work for it, whether it be meals (just look at the delivery/take out businesses) or sexual pleasure (like Avenue Q says, the internet is for porn).

It’s no wonder that excessive use of porn is a bad thing…it leads to instant gratification, and makes it so that (unlike even 25 years ago) people can simply turn on their computer/smartphone and have sex literally at their fingertips. No waiting, no needing to buy a nude magazine or adult novel, no need for personal imagination or mental work…Porn makes us fat and lazy. We are hunters who have the prey lay down in front of us, neck bared.

On the other hand, masturbation in and of itself isn’t bad. Heck, using porn isn’t bad either…like drinking, it’s okay in moderation. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a rough day at work and am not in the mood to make myself think up a hot and heavy scenario to play in my mind. That’s where Redtube, Keeze Movies, Booble, etc come in. Porn should be treated like a candy bar…good as a snack, but not to be had everyday.

Double clicking oneself using your own mental imagery is much better. In doing so, you’re not a passive onlooker…you’re a active participant. You are the director and players. You control the closeups and the moans. Everything that happens, does so because you will it to. It’s still self control, but of a different kind.

That said, don’t feel bad for “failing”. You’re on a diet, and should have a “snack” once in a while. I tried to go 2 weeks without pleasuring myself, and was having wet dreams and severe “morning wood” by day 4. I managed to get through all 14 days without having nonsubconscious orgasms…but am in no rush to do THAT again. 😉

Good luck with this extremely difficult endeavor.

        Good luck then!

I’m glad to be done with that…til I get debt free & go back for my MBA. What degree level are you working on currently?
